Okemo is an awesome hill station. Great place to ski.
Location:
Okemo Mountain Resort is in the state of Vermont, USA, above the village of
Ludlow, just off Vermont Routes 103/100.
Skis are used in conjunction with special boots that connect to the ski with
use of a binding. It is characterized by fixed-heel bindings that attach at
both the toe and the heel of the skier's boot. About 32% are novice
and for beginners like us there were classes. I was thrilled to see so many
children learning skiing. My friends and I had the pleasure of having Mr.
Craig be our instructor in a ski class. He is a good and patient teacher. I
learned how to stand and walk with ski and much more from him. He helped me
get up whenever I fell down - which was many times :) The shoes and the gear
were taken on rent.
Picturesque return journey via Northampton, Massachusetts, where we could
eat lunch; many Indian restaurants offer vegetarian food.
