Leipzig, Germany, in 1977.
There was an institute, called Robotron, where they were training computer engineers, maintenance of IBM 360 mainframe computer system with large tape drives, and line printers. Few engineers from India were selected for the main frame service training, including me. We were actually learning how computer hardware work and how to do troubleshooting of the electronic circuits. It was third generation machine. So I became qualified computer engineer to service computer systems. Earlier I was trained on the IBM 1401 mainframe computers, that was using punch cards. I have published the entire 35 years of track-record on my professional web site http://www.dnserp.com/past_recods.htm

My father Shri Jethalal Zaveri also visited me while I was studying. He has been visiting Germany several times, because he had a technical collaboration with Siemens in Germany, for manufacturing electric motors and transformers in Bharat Bijlee Ltd., in Bombay, India. |
