Shiamak Davar program

There could not have been a more spectacular concluding ceremony of the third Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune.   Light, sound, action — it had it all — the air show, dance and song performances.  But, it was not before Shiamak Davar and his troupe gave an outstanding performance. The colours and vibrance at the stadium were to be seen to be believed.  The crowds gave a thumping response to each and every performer. 

The dignitaries included Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, chairman of the CYG Organising Committee Suresh Kalmadi,  Patangrao Kadam, Harshwardhan Patil, yoga Maharaj Baba Ramdev Maharaj, MP Sachin Pilot and pole vault record holder Sergey Bubka.    Suresh Kalmadi, the man credited with bringing the CYG to Pune, was beaming after the successful hosting of the Games in Pune. “I couldn’t have asked for more. The people of Pune supported CYG from their heart and we had support from every quarter. I am happy that we could utilise this opportunity in showcasing Pune,” he said.
